Plans

Educating Illinois

Educating Illinois is Illinois State University's strategic plan that incorporates the University's mission, vision, and core values (individualized attention, public opportunity, active pursuit of learning and scholarship, diversity, and innovation). Educating Illinois guides the University during its daily operations and provides a roadmap to the future.

The Master Plan

The Master Plan is the long-range vision for the University's future facility development and long-term design standards.

Long-Range Plan for University Housing and Campus Dining Services

The Long-Range Plan provides an analysis of existing campus housing and dining facilities, a program for future housing, principles for building renovation, guidelines for new residence hall design, phasing scenarios, and conceptual cost estimates.

Energy Management and Utility Infrastructure Improvement Plan

The Energy Management and Utility Infrastructure Improvement Plan addresses energy management, conservation, procurement, funding, and infrastructure improvement.

Information Technology Strategic Plan

The Information Technology Strategic Plan establishes the vision, mission, and guiding principles of information technology for the University.

Gregory Street Property Land-Use Plan

The Gregory Street Property Land Use Plan is a guide to future decision-making on the development of the Gregory Street Property that provides planning principles, including sustainable design criteria, and a representational drawing of greenways, streets, potential types of buildings and occupants or programs and identified targeted building sites.

Academic Plan

The five-year annually renewable Academic Plan summarizes collegiate mission statements, institutional priorities, academic unit objectives, and program reviews.

Program Review

All degree programs at Illinois State University are reviewed on an eight-year cycle on the following criteria: student demand, occupational demand, centrality to institutional mission, breadth, success of graduates, costs, quality, productivity, and diversity. The Academic Plan highlights programs reviewed during the last academic year.

Affirmative Action Plan

Illinois State University’s Annual Affirmative Action Plan expresses the University's commitment to achieving equal opportunity in employment and education. The Plan documents goals, timetables, and action items designed to achieve representation of women and minorities consistent with their availability.

Reports

State of the University Address

The President of Illinois State University annually presents the State of University Address to the University community. The address highlights the University's accomplishments for the prior academic year and outlines the President's goals for the new academic year.

Educating Illinois Status Report

The Educating Illinois Status Report is a reflection of Illinois State University's progress towards advancing the seven goals and 16 action items detailed in the Plan.

Performance Report and Performance Indicators

The Illinois Board of Higher Education requires each Illinois college and university to submit an annual report highlighting the ways in which it contributes to advancing six statewide policy priorities: sustaining strong economic growth, improving teaching and learning, maintaining affordability, increasing diversity, engaging in assessment, and operating productively and cost-efficiently. Illinois State University’s Performance Report highlights progress the University has made within the context of its strategic plan, Educating Illinois.

Illinois State University's Performance Indicators supplement the Performance Report by providing data measures for the six goals outlined in the Illinois Commitment. Data include three-years of trend data along with benchmark data where available.

Underrepresented Groups Report

Illinois State University’s Underrepresented Groups Report summarizes the programs, activities, and strategies used to increase the participation and achievement of traditionally underrepresented students, faculty, and staff and to improve relationships within the University. Illinois Public Act 85-283 and subsequent state statutes direct public institutions of higher education in Illinois to develop plans and implement strategies to increase the participation and achievement of minorities, women, and individuals with disabilities who traditionally have been underrepresented in higher education.

NCA Self Study

Illinois State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and was re-accredited in July 2005.

Budget Requests

Annual Capital and Operations Request

Annual Capital and Operations Requests for state funds identify the University’s highest priorities for capital improvement projects and operating funds. The capital projects are identified by the University through priorities set forth in the University's strategic plans - Educating Illinois, The Master Plan, Energy Management and Utility Infrastructure Improvement Plan, the Facilities Condition Assessment, and the Gregory Street Property Land-Use Plan - along with an ongoing process of assessing academic and support service needs, determining facility usage strategies, analyzing facilities' condition and opportunities, and evaluating available resources. Operating funds requests are based upon the activities and programs identified in Educating Illinois.
